Precious Treasury of the Way of Abiding
Longchen Rabjam is revered as one of the greatest masters in the Nyingma school of Vajrayana Buddhism. He wrote more than 250 treatises on a wide variety of topics, but is best known for his works on Dzogchen, especially the extensive scholastic exegesis of the Dzogchen tantras known as The Seven Treasuries. This collection discusses the primordial nature that is the ground of all experience, the view, meditation, and conduct of the spiritual path, and the final freedom that is the fruition of that path.
The Precious Treasury of the Way of Abiding is one volume of The Seven Treasuries. Consisting of Longchen Rabjam's source verses and autocommentary, it is a treatise on the "four great samayas" of Dzogchen - ineffability, openness, spontaneous presence, and oneness. In support of his presentation, Longchen Rabjam quotes extensively from the Dzogchen tantras, as well as from Garab Dorje, Nagarjuna, Shri Singha, Padmasambhava, and other great masters of the early Buddhist tradition.
The volume contains an introduction by Venerable Tulku Thondup Rinpoche and a foreword by His Eminence Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche, who underscores the importance of this work by saying, "Simply having [this] book in one's home is more valuable than having status or stupas, for it is truly a relic of the dharmakaya."
