This booklet contains instructions for dying given by H.E. Garchen Rinpoche. It offers precious instructions on how to help people die in accordance with Tibetan Buddhist practices as articulated in The Tibetan Book of the Dead. The text is organized by stages of dying-before, during and after death-with instructions for speech, body and mind, and contains a brief section on the Stages of Dissolution, for reference. Most of the images and prayers mentioned in the booklet are included in the back for convenience. The intent of this booklet is to help readers prepare for death and/or to compassionately assist others make the transition.
The English translation and compilation of this book was prepared by Ina Bieler and, unless otherwise stated, it was edited by CJ Ondek and Dan Clarke (Amitabha teaching). May it bring great benefit to all sentient beings across the billion-fold universe.
